The Growth Intelligence Tool

Check your baby's percentiles based on WHO standards. See the difference between manual checks and continuous clinical intelligence.

Why it matters

Weight is the primary indicator of nutritional adequacy and overall health in the first year.

Clinical vs. Home Measurement

  • Clinic: Naked on a calibrated, medical-grade digital scale.
  • Home: Usually done by holding the baby on an adult scale, or using uncalibrated home scales.
The Reality: Home scales often have a margin of error of up to 500g, causing unnecessary stress or missed interventions.

Why it matters

Height (length) tracks skeletal growth and long-term nutritional status.

Clinical vs. Home Measurement

  • Clinic: Using a rigid measuring board with the baby's legs fully extended.
  • Home: Using a flexible measuring tape next to a wiggling baby.
The Reality: Measuring a baby's length manually is notoriously inaccurate because babies curl up. A 2cm error changes the percentile drastically.

Why it matters

Head circumference tracks brain growth, which is critical in the first 12 months.

Clinical vs. Home Measurement

  • Clinic: Tape placed securely over the eyebrows and the most prominent part of the back of the head.
  • Home: Trying to wrap a tape around a moving target.
The Reality: Even slight angle deviations skew the results. We believe genetics matter more than single averages.
